For my whole life I have looked passionately at what my eyes have perceived and wished I could capture those moments - from the tiniest details to the most grandeur scenes - and I did not realize until my iPhone, that this was a passion named photography. Yes, you read that right - my iPhone awakened me to my love of photography.
After realizing that I stopped using my phone for anything but taking pictures, I decided I needed to explore this newly found passion. So, I bought a film camera, set on the idea that if I was going to learn photography, I was going to learn the hard way - taking blind shots and spending rather more money than I realized, developing countless rolls of film from which very few, let's say, desirable results, emerged. But the loss of money didn't bother me one bit; that film camera felt, well, magical.
Since then, I have added another camera to my bag, that allows me to delete and re-take, rather then print and purchase. At the moment I know little of the techniques and proper practices of photography, but what I hope you will see in my photos is the grand beauty I see and the great insignificance I feel, when I look around and observe this spectacularly intricate world we live in.
The pictures you find here are from a girl young in the art of photography, but old in passion for it. I believe strongly that a great photographer can take pictures which, while can be enhanced by editing, do not need to be, to stand out. My opinion on this matter may change as I improve, my for right now, the only editing you will find in my pictures is a slight enhancement of color, and the addition of my name, Candace Palmer.
